Purpose of This Curriculum
This curriculum explores the biological mechanisms of skin aging, distinguishing between intrinsic (genetic, chronological) aging and extrinsic (environmental, lifestyle-driven) aging. Students will learn how aging alters cellular behavior, barrier function, inflammation, pigmentation, and repair—and how ethical aesthetic practice adapts to these changes.
